Mississippi Pot Roast Recipe
Hey y’all! Today I’m going to share with you my Mississippi Pot Roast recipe. This is the most requested recipe I have shared and I hope your family enjoys it as much as we do. This is Ken’s all-time favorite meal! Let’s get into the details.
Mississippi Pot Roast
Ingredients
- Top Round Roast – 1 large (this time we used 2 small)
- Butter – 1 stick
- Au Jus Gravy mix – 1 packet
- Ranch salad dressing mix – 1 packet
- Whole Pepperoncini – 1 jar
- Water
Instructions
- Place Top Round Roast in the crockpot.
2. Add about 1 inch of water to the bottom of the crockpot with the roast.
3. Next, add 1 jar of pepperoncini’s to the crockpot. Spread them evenly over the roasts.
4. Spread the ranch salad dressing seasoning mix over the roast evenly.
5. Now evenly spread the Au Jus Gravy mix over the roast.
6. Lastly, add the stick of butter on top, turn the heat on low, cover, and allow to cook for 8 hours.
Once the roast has cooked for eight hours, it is ready to be served.
We like to serve the roast with some mashed potatoes, some type of veggies, and a dinner roll. We use the broth from the roast as a gravy for the mashed potatoes.

Was I supposed to drain the pepperoncinis? I dumped the whole jar in and it was sooooooooooo tangy!

Not sure if you would know the answer to this, but I can’t find a Top roast anywhere so I got a bottom roast. Will it taste much different?
