Happy Saturday y’all! After sharing some pictures of this taco salad I had so many of you reach out and ask for the recipe. I have made this taco salad for years and it was one of the first meals I made for Ken when we began dating. He loved it! It’s always a big hit at pot lucks too. I hope you’ll give it a try and your family loves it as much as ours.
My Favorite Taco Salad
Ingredients
8 cups Chopped Romaine Lettuce
1 lb Ground Beef (browned)
2 cups Shredded Cheese
5 oz Doritos Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips
1 cup Sliced Tomatoes
1 can Red Kidney Beans
Catalina Salad Dressing (to taste)
Instructions
1. Start by adding ground beef to a skillet and cook until browned. While the ground beef is browning, clean and chop the romaine lettuce. Place chopped romaine lettuce in a bowl large enough to facilitate the mixing of all ingredients in the end.
2. Add the shredded cheese, tomatoes, and browned ground beef to the bowl with the chopped romaine lettuce mixing between each ingredient.
3. Next add the Doritos and crush them to break them up making smaller pieces of the chips.
4. The last ingredient to add before the salad dressing is the kidney beans. I actually added a little salad dressing before realizing I forgot the kidney beans. Still tasted great!
6. Lastly, add the Catalina salad dressing. You can choose how much salad dressing you want on your salad. You may want less or more than we like.
Let me know if you try this recipe and if your family likes it as much as we do.

My mother in law has been making this for the past ten years. It’s a family favorite. One thing she does differently is adds a packet of taco seasoning once the hamburger is cooked. So good
